ECHT 2020 focuses on carbon in steel

ECHT 2020 (the European Conference on Heat Treatment) took place in early December. The conference was held online, not in Antwerp as originally planned, due to the COVID-19 crisis. The three-day conference mainly addressed themes on the carbon element in steel, such as carburising, carbonitriding and also surface layers such as diamond-like carbon (DLC).

More than 125 participants discovered and followed the novelties and developments of carburising from their offices or homes. Despite the fact that carburising has existed for some time, new developments are being made in this field, which are important for industry. During the conference, various developments were discussed in the themed sessions. Participants in the conference could also acquaint themselves with the Sirris Test labs at a virtual booth.
