The chemical analysis or Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectrometer (GDOES) analyses the qualitative and quantitative composition of steel, stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron (high and low alloyed), copper and nickel.

Test procedure:

You provide us with a small test piece of minimum 18 x 18 mm or a diameter of 18 mm, 2 mm thick. In case of large parts, a sample will then be machined in our workshop. The prepared sample is then positioned in the spectrometer. The principle of analysis is based on a glow discharge, whereby the sample is bombarded with argon ions.

The emitted light that is released after ionisation is measured by different photomultipliers converting the signal into an electrical voltage. Each element with its own specific wavelength of light can be measured separately and the amount is calculated.
