Chemical resistance test
Analysis of the chemical resistance of a coating or material.
Can be applied to:
Coatings
Test method standards:
ASTM D1308, ISO 2812, ASTM D4752
Test procedures:
1. Chemical resistance “spot” test
A small volume of the test liquid is brought into contact with the material surface and is covered with a cover glass. After a certain period of time, the influence of the liquid on the test surface is examined. Usually the contact time is limited to minutes, several hours or 1 day.
2. Solvent resistance rub test (MEK)
The solvent rub test is used for checking the degree of cure of a baked film by rubbing the surface with a cloth soaked with MEK. The amount of rubs until failure are counted.
Lead time:
Approximately 5 business days.
All tests – composites – metals – plastics – coatings – adhesives – 3D prints
