Flash Differential Scanning Calorimetry (Mettler Toledo Flash DSC 2+)
Determination of heat flow associated with chemical and physical transformations of a sample as a function of temperature (ultrafast heating and cooling rates) or time.
Can be applied to:
Metals, plastics, ceramics, glass, composites, pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals
Test procedure:
A small sample is inserted into the DSC. Changes in enthalpy are measured as function of temperature or time.
Specifications:
Small sample needed (µg/mg), temperature range -90 to 1000°C, N2 flow.
Heating rate 0.1 up to 40000K/s, Cooling rate 0.1 up to 40000K/s.
Applications:
detailed analysis of processes involving the formation of structure in materials, direct measurement of rapid crystallisation processes, determination of the kinetics in fast reactions, investigation of the mechanism of action of additives under near-production conditions, comprehensive thermal analysis of materials in a very short time, analysis of very small samples, determination of data for simulation calculations, etc.
Lead time:
2 business days
All tests – composites – metals – plastics – coatings – adhesives – 3D prints
