Melt Flow Index (MFI)

Quality control of a thermoplastic batch or determination of the melt flow index (MFI) of the material.

Test procedure:

We measure the melt flow index by extrusion of a molten material. The thermoplastic is melted and we use a calibrated dye and a weight determined by the test method standard. The material is extruded and gives an MFI-enabling comparison with a batch or a reference.
