Moisture content test
With this test we determine the amount of moisture in the sample by drying it or by adding a reagent.
Can be applied to:
3D printed structures
Test procedure standards:
ASTM E1868-10
Test procedures:
1. Loss-on Drying
In this method we measure the total change in the weight of a material when the sample has dried. This gives us an indication of the moisture content of the sample before drying.
2. Karl Fischer Titration
This is a chemical method that measures only water content in a product sample. It involves adding a reagent to the sample to cause a reaction that converts the water in the product into a non-conductive chemical. This methodology allows for measuring water content in which volatile impurities can impact the measurement done by heating the samples.
All tests – composites – metals – plastics – coatings – adhesives – 3D prints
