Red-White penetrant test

This is a non-destructive test method where the test piece is injected with a liquid and powder that reveals cracks on the surface of a metal product.

Can be applied to:

metals

Test procedure:

A metal component or product that is suspected of being damaged is, in a first step, sprayed abundantly with a red liquid. The liquid dye seeps into the cracks and remains there, even after the piece is cleaned. The test sample is then injected with a white powder which sucks the red liquid out of the cracks.

On the white surface you can see red lines, which gives you a view of the damage. A picture of this is taken, which is displayed in a clear report, together with the findings.
